What's Happening?
Hello Parents!
Welcome to second semester. We are at the halfway point through our courses together. I want to thank each of your for helping to make a successful first semester. Here are a few updates on adjustments that I have made in our classroom for second semester that I feel will lead to a smoother classroom and greater success for your student.
The first adjustment that I have made is updating the syllabus. I have added to end of the year objectives that we will be covering in our course, as well as emphasizing classroom standards. I have asked that each student print this out at home, have their parent/guardian sign it and keep it in their binder dedicated to my class.
The second adjustment that I have made is how we will be completing our bellringers. I have created a new worksheet that will include the date, objective covered in class, warm-up (a review of last class), exit ticket (a review from class that day), and an area for students to reflect on what they learned that day. I provided students with their first copy and have asked them to be responsible and pint this out at home for class.
The third adjustment that I have made to our class this semester is adding an assignment tracker. I have provided this to students to keep up with for the remainder of the year. I feel as though this will help students keep up with assignments, dues dates and grades earned. I have also added this to my website for you to look at and if needed to print off an additional copy if the original is lost. I do encourage you to look at your students assignment tracker to see how well they are keeping up with due dates and grades
I personally feel that through these three adjustments we will have a happier and healthier learning environment. If your student does not have access to a printer at home they can come before school to my room or to the library to print of the required materials.
